Plastics Summit is the most important event of the plastics sector in Portugal, gathering the main players and hosting key personalities from politics, economy, business and universities.
2019’s edition evolves from the former annual seminar held by APIP into a highly professionalised and media event.
This event was planned taking into consideration a choice of key themes and speakers of excellence. On the first day there will be several presentations and various debates, highlighting the SUP Directive. The second day will address recycling, raw materials, food safety, among other topics.
At the same time, in exhibition, some companies will showcase their products and services.

On June 5, 2019, the Single Use Plastics (SUP) Directive was published by the European Commission introducing restrictive measures by 2021, like reduction consumption and ban of certain plastic articles, aiming to prevent and reduce the impact of certain plastic products.

Considering the new targets that were set for collection and recycling of plastic packaging waste, as well as for the usage of plastic recyclates it is imperative to know the state of the art of plastics recycling and its future challenges.
